About Us

Welcome!

I’m a native New Yorker who has relocated to Florida for the winters and Wyoming in the summertime. I have the best of both worlds: beaches in the winter and mountains in the summer! My husband and I have been small business owners for over 30 years, owning and operating a dry cleaning plant on Eastern Long Island.

In 2011, we had the opportunity to sell our business, and we were able to pursue our passion for traveling. We now travel throughout the United States in our RV, exploring the country as we go. We enjoy spending an extended period of time in different areas, immersing ourselves in the local culture and way of life. We are avid hikers, enjoy local educational opportunities, and consider ourselves “foodies.” Wildlife viewing and conservation are passions we both have.

I developed an interest in proofreading last year, and after researching the topic, I took the course “Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice.” Proofreading fulfills a need in me for the challenge of taking a product, in this case the transcript, and making sure that the rough product is polished into an accurate, readable document. The verbatim word can be hard to follow, and proper punctuation in the transcript is vital for readability. My extensive training in the course involved reading through thousands of pages of practice transcripts, giving me experience in several varieties of documents, including depositions, accidents transcripts, medical transcripts, workers’ compensation cases, EUOs, and trials. I have been continuing my education with Margie Wakeman Wells’s course, “Good Grammar (Finally).” I have developed a methodical, comprehensive style of reading word-by-word, allowing me to catch both punctuation and content issues.

I know your work is important to you. I would be honored if you would let your work be important to me as well. If you have any questions or would like to chat, please feel free to contact me.
